So, my mom is awesome and amazing. But she comes with major food allergies. All fish and poultry will send her into anaphylactic shock. What does that mean? Her throat closes up and she can’t breathe, stabs herself with an EpiPen and we call the ambulance. So not fun! Even the smell of fish will make her stop breathing. If she wants to have an exciting eating adventure, I cook for her. We love Asian food, but many of the dishes contain fish sauce…this dip is created without it. The sauce is not super authentic, but it is super tasty!
- 4 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Palm Sugar or Brown Sugar
- 1 Lime, juiced
- 1 Shallot, minced
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 2 Bird’s Eye Chile or Jalapenos, minced
- 1/2 cup cold Water
- Put everything in a small Mason jar or other tightly sealed container. Shake to your heart’s content. Enjoy!
This stays well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
