I love a good Bourbon Cocktail! This one is super refreshing with the fresh Mint and Crushed Ice! Just be sure to crush more ice than you think you need before you start drinking…3 rounds in using the mallet could be a bit dangerous!

For 1 Cocktail!

  • 8 mint leaves
  • 2 sugar cubes or 1 teaspoon of sugar or 1/4 ounce of simple syrup
  • 2 ounces Bourbon
  • crushed ice
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  1. Put mint leaves and sugar of your choice in the bottom of a sturdy glass. Muddle (squish) using a muddler or the bottom of a wooden spoon to release the essential oils in the mint.
  2. Add in the Bourbon!
  3. Fill an Old Fashioned glass with crush ice, mounding at the top like a snow cone. Pour the cocktail over the ice and top with the bitters. Garnish with more mint if you are feeling fancy!

If the cocktail is too strong for your taste, you can top with Club Soda. This is especially tasty when it is hot out and you are wearing an over sized, over embellished hat.
